Excel Sheet Merge

Merge multiple sheets into one sheet.

About This Tool

The Excel Sheet Merge tool combines the data from multiple sheets within one Excel file (.xlsx) into a single sheet in the order you choose. The header row of the first selected sheet is used as the result headers, while subsequent sheets are appended with their header rows skipped. Ideal for consolidating monthly, departmental, or segment-based sheets into one table.

How to Use

1

Select an Excel file

Upload the Excel file (.xlsx) that contains the sheets you want to merge. Once selected, you can see the file name, total sheet count, and size.

2

Choose sheets and reorder them

Check the sheets to merge and drag them or use the up/down buttons to change their order. Data is appended in top-to-bottom order in the result sheet.

3

Set the header row and merge

Enter the number of rows to keep as headers from the first selected sheet, then click Merge Sheets. Download the result Excel file when processing is complete.

Key Features

Merge multiple sheets into one

Combine the row data from multiple sheets within one Excel file into a single continuous sheet.

Select sheets to merge

Choose only the sheets you need, with Select All and Clear Selection buttons for quick handling.

Freely reorder sheets

Drag the sheets or use the up/down move buttons to control the order in which data is appended.

Custom header row

Set how many rows at the top of the first selected sheet are kept as column headers; subsequent sheets skip that many header rows and append only data.

Per-sheet info and merge status

Review each sheet's name, row count, and column count, and see its status — header source, header skipped, or not selected — directly in the list.

Calculated values and in-browser processing

Cells containing formulas are merged by their calculated result values. Everything runs locally in your browser.

Use Cases

Consolidating monthly data

Combine sales or performance data split into sheets like January, February, and March into a single table.

Compiling departmental data

Combine personnel, cost, or task records that each department maintains in its own sheet into one consolidated sheet.

Merging segment-based measurements

Append data split by segment or type into one sheet in order.

Combining survey and research results

Turn multiple sheets of survey results with the same column structure into a single dataset.

Preprocessing data for analysis

Combine identically formatted data scattered across sheets for filtering, pivot tables, and statistical analysis.

Frequently Asked Questions

In what order are the sheets combined?

Data is appended from top to bottom as shown in the list. Drag the sheets or use the up/down move buttons to change the order.

How is the header row handled?

The specified number of rows at the top of the first selected sheet become the result headers. For each subsequent selected sheet, the same number of header rows is skipped and only the data rows are appended.

What does the header row count mean?

It is the number of rows at the top of the first selected sheet that are kept as column names. For example, setting the header row count to 1 uses the first row as column names, and each subsequent sheet skips its first row before merging the actual data.

Do I have to select every sheet?

No. You can merge only the sheets you need. The Select All and Clear Selection buttons let you quickly select or deselect multiple sheets.

Can I merge sheets with different column counts?

Yes, sheets with different row and column counts can be selected. However, the result column structure follows the first selected sheet, so some cells may be empty or data may not line up if the column layouts differ.

What if the column names are different?

The result column structure follows the first selected sheet's headers. If later sheets have different column order or meaning, data may land in the wrong columns, so it is safest to merge sheets with the same structure.

Are formulas preserved?

No. Cells containing formulas are merged by their calculated values. The result file contains the computed values at merge time instead of the original formulas.

Are empty rows merged too?

Blank rows between data are kept as-is without a separate option. Trailing blank rows and blank columns are removed, and sheets with no data at all are excluded from the merge.

Does the merge change the original sheets?

No. The original Excel file stays unchanged, and a new Excel file containing the combined data is created.

How is this different from Excel File Merge?

Excel File Merge keeps the sheets of multiple Excel files as separate sheets inside one workbook. Excel Sheet Merge appends the row data of multiple sheets within one file into a single sheet.

Is my Excel file sent to a server?

No. All processing happens locally in your browser. Your Excel file and merge results are never transmitted to a server.
